Turtle Island is a pattern from the Artic Star Mixer Series designed by Judy and Bradley Niemeyer. Measuring 99″ x 99″, Turtle Island incorporates floating points, curved piecing on a paper, Judy’s method for strip pieced Lone Star blocks, “fall of a bike” easy LaMoyne Stars, and pieced borders. The class is offered at Quilter’s Emporium in Stafford, Texas (Houston Metropolitan Area) as a 4 session class. The class sessions are spaced so you can have everything pieced and ready to assemble by the last class. If you have never sewn a Niemeyer / Quiltworx pattern, Turtle Island is a great introduction.
