We are proud to announce Quiltworx University right here in Judy’s hometown of Kalispell, MT!
Quiltworx has rented the Snowline Acre’s building, which is a beautiful relocated and updated event center with giant cross beams, beautiful windows on every side, and room for everyone to spread out and quilt with mountain views in beautiful NW Montana.
Our Quiltworx University events are perfect for both beginning paper piecers and those with a full-on Judy addiction! Judy will be joined by four Quiltworx Instructors who will be teaching alongside her, Quiltworx staff will be on-site for all your Quiltworx needs, Judel Niemeyer will be designing quilts, and we will have a wonderful pop-up store full of all of Judy and Judel’s favorite fabric collections! There will be classes, demonstrations, nightly trunk shows of gorgeous quilts that will surely be inspirational. We will have on-site shopping, fun give-aways, show and tells from your fellow Quilters, Quiltster demonstrations, and more! The Snowline Acres building will be available from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 19th, then 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day for those who want to sew late into the evening, or early before class. Check out is Thursday, September 24th at 10 a.m. from Snowline Acres. We have a maximum of 80 spots available, but they go quickly, so reserve your spot today!
For every Quiltworx University, we create an exclusive project, giving you the opportunity to create a completely unique quilt! You will be required to work on the class project, but will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of quilt sizes and blocks to mix and match and customize your project. We will offer several quilt sizes and you will use Quiltster to plan your project, place your order, and the kit will be cut and waiting for you to start class when you arrive. The kit cost is separate from the event cost. But, 6 month of Quiltster is included with your signup, so you will have plenty of time and access to the program to pick the perfect project for you!
Your registration today will secure your spot and your reservation for the location you would like to stay during the event. A description and pricing is included below. When you know you are ready to book, click on Sign Up and then if you have a Quiltster account or have attended an event in the past, you can use that login to log in and sign up for the event. If you have not set up a quiltster account in the past or attended an event with us in Montana, you will need to create a new account. (Don’t worry, if you try to set up a new account and already have one, you get a note that you already have an account and you can simply use that same email in the Login location, then change your password if you can’t remember, and access everything you need!).
Below, you will see a variety of lodging options to choose from for your signup. Please study these carefully and read the descriptions below:
DOUBLE OCCUPANCY: This lodging option is perfect for you and your friend, or for you and your friend that you will make at this event! Lodging will be at the Best Western Flathead Lake Inn and Suites, located approximately 4-1/2 miles from Snowline Acres, and only 1 mile from the Quiltworx Warehouse. Please consider renting a car or providing your own transportation. Shuttles back and forth to the hotel are not available. Complimentary breakfast is available at the hotel. Double Occupancy includes hotel rooms from September 19th to 23th. Class ends at 2 p.m. on September 24th, so you will check out that morning. Additional nights at the hotel MUST be booked through Quiltworx at an additional price of $150/person/night. If you do not want to pay this amount, consider looking at other locations around the valley during the event. Sometimes those prices can be less and you can book directly with the other venues on your own. Price: $3,085
SINGLE OCCUPANCY: This lodging option will also be provided at the Best Western Flathead Lake Inn and Suites and is perfect for those of you who prefer your own privacy in your room in the evening or students who may be traveling with a spouse or travel partner not attending the workshop. Lodging will be at the Best Western Flathead Lake Inn and Suites, located approximately 4-1/2 miles from Snowline Acres, and only 1 mile from the Quiltworx Warehouse. Please consider renting a car or providing your own transportation. Shuttles back and forth to the hotel are not available. Complimentary breakfast is available at the hotel. Double Occupancy includes hotel rooms from September 19th to 23th. Class ends at 2 p.m. on September 24th, so you will check out that morning. Additional nights at the hotel MUST be booked through Quiltworx at an additional price of $150/person/night. If you do not want to pay this amount, consider looking at other locations around the valley during the event. Sometimes those prices can be less and you can book directly with the other venues on your own. Price: $3,585
QUILTWORX TRAINING CENTER: This lodging option is a double occupancy option where you will be able to stay in one of 5 rooms at the Quiltworx Training Center. We will not have this room set up for sewing, however, so please do not plan to sew at the training center. A kitchen area is available at the Training Center for you to prepare your own breakfast (basic continental breakfast style options will be available, or you can explore several of the local breakfast cafes in the area before class!). The rooms at the training center include twin beds and shared bathrooms for two people in each room. Please consider renting a car or providing your own transportation. Shuttles back and forth are not available. Double Occupancy includes rooms from September 19th to 23th. Class ends at 2 p.m. on September 24th, so you will check out that morning. Additional nights at the Quiltworx Training Center MUST be booked through Quiltworx at an additional price of $150/person/night and are only available on the night AFTER the event. If you do not want to pay this amount, consider looking at other locations around the valley during the event. Sometimes those prices can be less and you can book directly with the other venues on your own. Price: $3,085
OFF-SITE: This lodging option is available for students traveling locally, or those who would like to make their own lodging arrangements. Are you traveling in an RV, with a spouse? Montana Basecamp is located less than a mile from Snowline Acres! But please understand that it is your responsibility, if you book an off-site reservation, to secure your own lodging. You will still receive the full meal plan regardless of your lodging plans. Also, please understand, we have only allowed for 10 off-site spaces during this event. We must give our lodging partners a guarantee of a certain number of rooms to secure the bookings at the pricing levels we have been quoted. If you plan to stay off-site, but all of the off-site lodging spaces have been booked already, you will need to sign up using the Double Occupancy pricing. Thank you for understanding. Price: $2,585.
LAKEVIEW RETREATS: We are so very excited to share that Lakeview Retreats, which is the house that was used for Retreats, overlooking Flathead Lake until 2016 will be available for lodging during this event! There will be 10 spaces available in this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home located approximately 6 miles from Snowline Acres. With never-ending views, a great floor layout, a full kitchen and living area, it will be a great place to not only sleep between your sew days, but relax and enjoy the view! Please consider renting a car or providing your own transportation. Shuttles back and forth to the Lakeview Retreats are not available. A kitchen is available for you to prepare your own breakfast (basic continental breakfast style options will be available, or you can explore several of the local breakfast cafes in the area before class!). Your reservation includes rooms from September 19th to 23th. You can check in at noon, at the house. Class ends at 2 p.m. on September 24th, so you will check out that morning. Additional nights at MUST be booked through Quiltworx at an additional price of $150/person/night and are only available for the night after the event. If you do not want to pay this amount, consider looking at other locations around the valley during the event. Sometimes those prices can be less and you can book directly with the other venues on your own. Room occupancy is Double occupancy in 3 of the rooms, and one large room will have space for up to 4 students! Price: $3,085
NOTE: If stairs are not your thing, we suggest booking a room at the Quiltworx Training Center or the Hotel. Lakeview Retreats has 3 stories and you may be on any one of those.
ON-SITE SNOWLINE ACRES GUEST HOUSE: There is a wonderfully renovated home on the snowline acres property that we have rented for a few of our guests who would like to stay on property and walk back and forth to the event center across the lawn. This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home has 2 rooms with single occupancy and one room with double occupancy for a total of 4 guests. You will not need a car if you stay at this location, but will need to have groceries for breakfast or to eat at the small coffee and breakfast kiosk that is on the property, just outside your doorstep! There are a number of delivery services, like Instacart or doordash to help you with your breakfast and food delivery needs. Price: $3,335 – $3,600
NOTE: If stairs are not your thing, we suggest booking a room at the Quiltworx Training Center or the Hotel. There is a flight of stairs in this home and you may be in a room that requires you to walk up and down them. Additionally, you will need to walk across the grass yard each day to get to the venue. It is more difficult with walkers to make this walk each day.
An initial deposit of $400 is due upon signup for this retreat and is NON-REFUNDABLE. A second NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $400, is due 6 months prior to the start date of your retreat (or February 19th, 2026). Final Payment is due 90 days before the start date of your retreat (June 19th, 2026). Before placing your reservation, please review the updated Cancellation Policy.
