The newest iteration of tree skirts from Judy Niemeyer / Quiltworx, the Christmas Cookie Tree Skirt is a great addition. A 70″ in diameter circular quilt table topper or “cut out the center” for a tree skirt, this project is fun to make. If you have never paper pieced before, it is a great project with which to learn the basics. Begin with a strip pieced Lone Star, add a spiked outline for the star, and throw in some curved piecing just to make it interesting. Whether you choose holiday themed fabrics, or break out for your own colorway, you will learn great techniques, meet some fellow quilters, and enjoy the community and process.
