If you’re ready for the most immersive and inspiring Workshop experience Quiltworx has to offer, this is the event for you. Quiltworx University is returning to the awe-inspiring Snowline Acres—a beautifully restored timber venue nestled in the heart of Big Sky Country—with mountain views, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and mostly SPACE! There’s room to spread out and quilt comfortably for everyone, in a space that is full of inspiration!

Unique, when compared to our other learning opportunities, Quiltworx University events come with:

1. An exclusive project, prepared and selected for each event ~ you won’t have to worry if you’ve made it before!
2. Block options that you can mix and match to make the perfect size and quilt for you (Released about 6 months prior to event).
3. Access to Quiltster for 6 months, where you can learn to create and purchase the project of your dreams!
4. Evening trunk shows, a warehouse tour, and Quiltster workshops for those interested in digging into quilt planning for their future projects.
5. A fully staffed event to make sure your needs are met and your experience is unforgettable.
6. Individual sewing stations with 5 ft tables, machines that can be rented if needed, cutting tables, room for your personal ironing station, large pressing and cutting stations located throughout the room, design walls, and everything that we know quilters need to comfortably make their projects in a room full of 80 people.

With a large group of passionate quilters in attendance, the event is thoughtfully structured into smaller teaching pods, ensuring personalized instruction and one-on-one time with Judy Niemeyer and her team of 3 to 5 Certified Instructors (depending on enrollment). Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned paper piecer, you’ll receive expert guidance tailored to your skill level as you create an exclusive heirloom-quality quilt. The class venue is open every night in Montana until 11 p.m. and opens each morning at 7 a.m. to accommodate extended sewing hours for those that are dedicate to progress!

But the magic doesn’t stop at the sewing machine. An onsite pop-up quilt shop offers an enormous selection of fabrics, notions, and tools to elevate your experience. The food? A culinary delight that rivals the stitching. And the accommodations? Simply second to none—comfort, charm, and Montana hospitality at its finest.

From the shimmer of the Northern Lights to the camaraderie of fellow quilters, Quiltworx University Montana 2026 is more than a retreat—it’s a celebration of creativity, connection, and going all in.

Pricing: Ranges from off-site, off-season, 5-day event at $1,250, up to on-site, peak season, 9-day event, $2,800.

Escape to Kalispell, Montana for a 5- or 9-day quilting retreat where creativity meets community in the heart of nature. Whether you’re just starting a new Quiltworx pattern or putting the final stitches on a long-time favorite, you’re welcome to bring any Quiltworx project—at any stage of completion—and work on it with expert guidance from Judy Niemeyer herself. These events provide a small class experience with no more than 12 students in attendance, with only Judy as the teacher. You can work on any Quiltworx project or lots of different projects as well. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided, every room comes with (2) twin beds and a private bath. There is a handicap accessible space and the lodging is attached to the sewing room for on-site options. The warehouse for Quiltworx is right next door, as well!
