Susie has sewn most anything that can be sewn over the years. She has worked in a Fabric store, sold her work, and designed some patterns as well.

She has two Bachelor of Science Degrees – Clothing Textiles and Design from University of Wisconsin – Madison and Interior Design from University of Nebraska.

Over the years her passion is assembling things with lots of pieces – large jigsaw puzzles, a career in Systems Furniture with 100’s of pieces per workstation, and now she loves to sew Quiltworx patterns – the more challenging the better!

The first pattern she made was Christmas Cactus followed by Crimson Poppy – from then on she was hooked! Now that she is a Certified Instructor, she wants to help you to learn the process of organization and techniques to sew these amazing patterns.

She also spent years drafting and designing so Quiltster is an extremely addicting tool where she can show you how to pick colors, fabrics, and mixer patterns to design the quilts you want to make.

Community Involvement is important to Susie so she is a member of the Verandah Sew and Sew Group, 2 Quilt Guilds, and President of her neighborhood Homeowner Association.

Susie lives in Fort Myers, Florida with her English Springer Spaniel ‘Winston’ and her Tortie Cat ‘Paprika’. She loves to swim and walk with her dog. Travel is another passion with a dream to teach Quiltworx patterns in Asia.

She is willing to travel anywhere to teach in addition to holding classes in Florida shops and Guilds. Her home is also an option to teach students. Private classes are available. She looks forward to teaching Technique of the Month Quilts in addition to beginner, intermediate and advanced students. Susie will also help you to select fabrics.

Susie loves good design and believes if you are going to spend time and money on a quilt, it has to be a beautiful work of are whey you are done to enjoy for years to come. Quiltworx projects definitely fit this description.
