Michele started her career by following her desire to learn to long arm quilt. Not long after she started this business, the natural progression was to start stocking a few fabrics, notions, and batting. Within a few months, a Quilt Shop was born!
Michele found Judy Niemeyer patterns provided the methods to achieve a very high quality finished quilt. After heading south for a couple of retreats with Judy, and some all-night sessions finishing quilts, she achieved her goal of “Certified Instructor” for Judy Niemeyer!
Retreat-style and daily/evening classes are the most popular-particularly the retreat style where Michele’s husband, Collin, keeps everyone fed and happy! He also picks out papers for the students-he’s great to have around!
Michele travels wherever she is invited (in Western Canada) to teach Judy Niemeyer classes. She also teaches other classes to guilds and quilt clubs in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Michele loves to teach (she is a teacher!), and her goal is for every single quilter to succeed at whatever current project they have going. We don’t have “Quilt Police” in our little shop, and recognize there are always several ways to achieve the desired end-a finished project! She has a very high rate of project completion by her students, and most return for more classes.
The “Best” thing about us-the laughter. It is rare to walk in and not hear a bit of giggling going on-if not full out belly laughs. We have so much fun with our clients who quickly become friends, whether you stop in to purchase fabric for that next project, come in for advice, or simply drop by to chat, have tea and see what’s new, our goal is to see that you have fun
