Calling All Campers!
Hold on to your hats everyone….there is exciting news to share!!
I am thrilled to announce a joint venture between fellow Quiltworx Certified Instructor Ana Blickenderfer and myself! Ana, from icansewthat.com located in Charles City, Iowa, will be joining me for an unbelievable week in November at the Wine Country Inn, located in Palisade, CO. Ana is an amazing Certified Instructor and also a Certified Shop owner with retreat center attached to her shop. Ana will be coming to Colorado…and bringing her shop with her!!
I am over the moon excited for this adventure, and I want to invite everyone to join in the fun.
This is something new for the Great Escape Quilt Camp, but something I think will be exceptional experience. Please…read through the following information to help you learn about how I run my retreats. You’ll find out how the retreats operate, what to bring, what to expect, what is provided, etc. And if you have any questions or concerns, just send me an email and I’ll get you as much information as I can.
Something new for the November retreats will be the need for sewing machine rentals for those who will be flying in for this event. I am working with a shop out of Cortez, CO and details are still being worked out as far as machine rental cost. These details should be finalized within the next few days, but I just couldn’t wait any longer to get this basic information out.
Important note:
I work closely with the staff at Wine Country Inn and act as liaison to the Inn for everyone. This arrangement has worked extremely well over the years, and I am very proud to conduct these retreats in this manner. There is no need for you to call the Inn to make your room reservations…that is a service that I provide for you. You are responsible for the lodging charges, but I take care of making all the arrangements per your request. If you do call the Inn for information about the retreat, they will refer you back to me as I am the Hostess. Please direct all your questions to me and I will take care of all the details. That is the very best way for you to know that your requests are handled to the best of our ability, and for me to stay on top of everything to ensure you can attend and be fully taken care of and sew to your hearts content.
The Quiltworx Retreats: Cost: $630
November 3, 4, 5, 6, 2025
There will be something very special for this retreat. Ana has offered to design a quilt especially for this retreat. If you are interested in this beautiful surprise, please reach out directly to Ana about the pattern, costs for pattern &/or kit possibilities. Her contact info is: sewthatcc@hotmail.com. I cannot wait get my hands on one of these exceptional creations!
Of course, since you will have two CI’s on deck to help with all things Quiltworx, you are absolutely invited to bring ANY Quiltworx patterns that are UFO’s, WIP’s or PIG’s….which are “Un-Finished Objects” (UFO’s), “Works In Progress” (WIP’s), or “Projects In Grocery bags” (PIG’s)…yeah-that last one is a bit of a stretch, but you get my drift, lol. If you have a Judy Niemeyer project that you’d like to get to the finish line, then this is the retreat to sign up for. TOTM’s (Technique of the Month) are included in this as well.
As a Quiltworx Certified Instructors, Ana and I will be with you throughout the retreat to offer you as much or as little help as you may need to get your projects going and/or back on track and on its way to a finish. If you have more than one…bring as many as you’d like to work on during these 4 exclusive days. Workstations are good sized as we will be utilizing the entire Ball Room for this retreat. You will also enjoy beautifully prepared meals from the Inn’s gourmet kitchen and snacks to keep you powered for maximum productivity. The Ball Room is accessible to you for sewing 24/7 once the retreat begins. The Inn’s staff go out of their way to provide exemplary service during our stay. So come and experience this fabulous event with 35-40 of your newest, best friends
The Open Sew Retreats: Cost: $280
November 7, 8, 9, 2025
This retreat is 3 days of sewing with fun and games, gourmet meals from the Inn’s fantastic kitchen, a bit of show and tell and way more giggling and visiting than you might expect.
The Open-Sew retreat can welcome between 35-40 quilters quite comfortably and all the accouterments you’ve come to enjoy will remain the same. Large community ironing stations, large cutting stations, plenty of sewing table space, and a staff at the Inn whose goal is to pamper us till we all feel like princesses…are all the same to enjoy.
And the last tidbit to share before the “Housekeeping” type of info comes into play is this….if, IF, you are interested in attending BOTH retreats in November, you are more than welcome to do so. It may be a bit much for some…but I can promise you, there are several already eager to sign up for both retreats. Hooray! So…if you want to come to one or both, be my guest! You will be greeted with open arms!
But you’ll want to get your registrations in as quickly as you can. Last time I opened registration we quickly reached capacity for the Great Escape Open Sew Retreat and went to a wait list situation within 14 days. There will be more information regarding retreat registrations and cancellations in the “Housekeeping” below, so be sure and take a look-see to be fully informed. If there are differences in the two retreats, it will be noted by category. Otherwise, please consider the topics to be the same for both retreats
