We’re excited to present Cattails in the Meadow Mixer which can be purchased for this workshop from Thimble Towne.
Prior to this event, you’ll receive a 6 month subscription to Quiltster, allowing you the opportunity to mix and match blocks and fabrics in 3 different quilt sizes to achieve your perfectly unique quilt!
Over 1500 unique combinations before factoring in fabrics or block rotations!

CLASS PREPARATION
Quiltster Activation for non-Quiltster Users will happen October 1st, and designs must be submitted to Thimble Towne and Quiltworx by December 1st. Kits will be prepared to the strip size, in advance of the event and ready for you to pick up at the workshop. If you already have a Quiltster account, a $60.00 credit will be added to your account for extending your subscription or using In-App purchase (coming soon, to purchase your kit or project!).
During this process, you can create your kits using the following 4 options:
- Our preference and what we hope you will gain the most experience from is using your Quiltster platform to design your own unique colorway with fabrics from the wide selection of fabrics we are providing and submitting this to Thimble Towne.
- We will be coordinating 7 pre-made kits for those that don’t want to use Quiltster, but no Quiltster account refund will be given. You will still have access to Quiltster for your Quiltworx planning needs throughout the workshop timeframe.
- We are also happy to help you with design services. A $25.00 design fee will be added to your kit and you will work with Judel Niemeyer on the design.
- A kit option will be available if you want to choose your own fabrics. You will need to purchase the Cattails in the Meadow pattern, select your own fabrics, and prepare your own kit for the workshop. If you choose this option, please let us know so we know not to expect a kit submittal from you.
Please consider which process you want to take! On October 1st, another email will be sent out with a finalized fabric collection list, how to access Quiltster, and the pre-designed kit options available. At that time, we will need a response from you has which path you intend to take! Project submittals to Thimble Towne will be required by December 1st.

- 3″ by 12″ piece of Template Plastic
- 3-1/2″ by 18″ piece piece of Template Plastic
- 12″ Add-a-quarter ruler
- 18″ Add-a-quarter ruler
- Purple Thang (optional)
- 6″ by 12″ ruler
- Medium size cutting mat (18” by 24”)
- Rotary cutter 45mm or 60 mm
- New rotary blade
- Size 70 needles (Microtex recommended)
- Scissors
- Seam ripper
- Surge protectors

- Fabric glue UHU stic
- Glue Pen (Fons and Porter, Sewline, or Avery recommended)
- High quality cotton sewing thread
