What’s New in May 2025; Patterns, and Expansion Borders, and Kits…OH MY!
As the warm days of May herald the arrival of summer, Quiltworx is buzzing with excitement and fresh inspiration! This month, we’re unveiling four brand-new pattern releases and giving a vibrant makeover to three existing favorites with dazzling new colorways. Plus, we’re thrilled to introduce our Adjustable Border products—a game-changer for expanding your favorite Quiltworx patterns to King size or even enhancing smaller designs. To top it off, explore our new kits in stunning fabric collections (including some inspiring seasonal Halloween colorways), now available in the Quiltster Marketplace. Expanding Your Quilt Creations: Introducing Our Versatile Adjustable Border System
Quilters have often asked us for solutions to expand their beautiful creations to king-size dimensions, and we’ve answered with an innovative adjustable border system. Designed to be incredibly versatile, these borders can be applied not only to smaller quilts to make them larger but also to bigger quilts, helping you achieve king-sized masterpieces.
We’re excited to release two paper-pieced border packages, with more designs in the works. These options—3-Tiered and 4-Tiered Adjustable Borders—are tailored to provide both aesthetic perfection and size flexibility. For example:
Both the 3-Tiered and 4-Tiered packages are specially crafted to expand your quilts to the following dimensions:
Expand an 80″ quilt into 102″
Expand an 84″ quilt into 102″
Expand a 96″ quilt to 118″
Expand a 99″ quilt to 118″
Expand a 100″ quilt to 118″
These adjustable borders can be found by clicking the Buy Now button on the pattern web pages for quilts of the appropriate sizes.
For smaller projects, these packages provide equally effective solutions. By removing some of the paper piecing units, you can accommodate other quilt sizes, although this may require some mathematical adjustments, the instructions explain how. Here are additional possibilities:
32″, 35″, and 36″ quilts can expand to 54″ square
48″, 51″, and 52″ quilts can grow to 70″ square
64″, 67″, and 68″ quilts can be enlarged to 86″ square
Whether you’re a beginner looking to enhance your smaller projects or an experienced quilter tackling larger ones, our adjustable borders unlock new possibilities for customization.
