Join me in the Sew Fly Quilts studio for this two-part Workshop Series. RipTides is from the Fireworks Mixer collection and finishes out at 66″x66″. In this class you will learn foundation paper piecing in the tradition of Judy Niemeyer; floating points, Template Layout Sheets, and curved paper piecing techniques for attaching the veins are all featured in these instructions. After the paper piecing is completed, traditional curved piecing is required to assemble the blocks.
This quilt is fun to make and easily adapted to using strips and background fabric from your own stash if you like. Kits are available in the featured colorway using Timeless Treasures Blueberry Tart Mini Collection. You can purchase the kit or you can opt to buy the pattern and use fabrics from your own stash. Riptides is a Collector’s Club design, so only a limited number of patterns will be released.
