About Our Shop
In April of 2020 when the world was shutting down Kelly was trying to figure out how to continue teaching to those that wanted to still gather safely. She had a friend contact her with the news that she had purchased a house and wanted help turning it into a Retreat Center. Kelly jumped at the idea. During the time spent painting and cleaning the seeds of Cactus Quilting were born. When the retreat center opened, Kelly rented space for her “store” and office in extra space at the retreat house. She offered open shopping days each month by appointment but really began to sell online via her website and through Quiltster Marketplace. In August 2020, Cactus Quilting completed requirements to become a Certified Shop. After a year the shop had outgrown the space and so the search for a new retail location began. In September 2021 Cactus Quilting was the on-site shop for Quiltworx University in Tucson. Then on October 1, 2021 the shop moved to their current home in Sun City West. In February 2022, the shop expanded to include a large classroom, office, shipping/receiving area as well as a room for kitting.
Kelly loves to create kits and Cactus Quilting is known for quality kits. We carry a large selection of Batiks as well as Kaffe/Tula/Tim Holtz. We love Lori Holt and Kimberbell too.
