DESCRIPTION:8-part course over 9 months \nCarnival Flower is a Technique of the Month foundation paper-piecing pattern. Over the monthly sessions students will be guided through the processes and steps used within the 10 groups to complete their own Quiltworx masterpiece. Through completing one group at a time\, beginning with the border\, students will become familiar with the basic techniques before undertaking the visually more complex sections. The basic construction technique used in each section\, is a very structured repetitive process\, producing stunning results upon final construction. Included in Carnival Flower are some advanced techniques. These are made achievable for even a confident beginner with the pattern design\, detailed written and visual instructions and support from a Quiltworx Certified Instructor.

DESCRIPTION:Quilt retreat May 21th –  May 30th 2027 \nAn English spoken retreat especially for quilters from the USA\, Canada\, Australia\, New Sealand\, Ireland and the UK\, but open for all who wants to join the group! \nCome to Drenthe in the northern area of the Netherlands and enjoy a 10 day retreat with the team of Quiltworx CI Marianne Martens-Niemeijer. \nWe are delighted to invite you to a fantastic retreat in May 2027. We will stay in a beautiful hotel in Drenthe. The location is unique. Adjacent to nature reserves\, away from the highway and also centrally located in the north of the Netherlands near the three provinces point of Friesland\, Groningen and Drenthe. \nOur hotel \nThe hotel has 51 rooms for 2 persons\, with 2 beds\, TV\, shower\, toilet and sink. If you come with a friend or with your husband\, you can share one room. If you come alone we will give you a roommate to make new friends for life. It is possible\, at an additional cost\, to get a single room. \nlt also has a huge relax room\, a Blue Spa Wellness (access by appointment and for an additional fee)\, and is fully wheelchair accessible. Also a Bar to relax and enjoy talking with quilt-friends. There is small capacity for 1 person rooms\, but this is more expensive. You can find pictures of the hotel and more on this website \nIn the sewing room are tables with a sewing machine available for every student. You will have access to the sewing room from 9.00 – 21.30 hour. There are several cutting mats and ironing tables  available in the room. Approximately 8 weeks before the start of the retreat you will receive a list of things you have to bring with you. There will be a small shop with all kinds of quilters ‘needs’ to buy. In the spring of 2026 we will send you a list of things we would like you to bring to the retreat. \nThe restaurant where we will enjoy our meals uses many local organic ingredients. Vegetarian and diet meals are available. \nWe think a retreat is not a retreat without any fun surprises. During this 10 days we offer you a one day excursion to ??? And there will be a surprise evening/afternoon we would like to give you. It will be a fabulous event for you to enjoy. \nQuilting \nA quilt retreat needs a quilt of course ???? and there will be a special one. We will offer you a special Quiltworx® quilt coloured just for this retreat. Of course there will be more color options. The quilt will be between 60 and  75 inch square. \nWhat is included: \n\nA private coach is getting you from Schiphol airport to Exloo on May 22th and brings you back to the Airport on May 31th.\n\n– You must arrive at the airport before 12 PM on May 21th (Own costs). The coach is leaving at 2.15 PM\n– The coach back to Schiphol Airport will arrive by 12:00 pm on May 30th on the Airport\,  so allow enough time to check in for international flights. (Own costs) \n\nYou will stay in a 2 persons rooms with shower\, toilet\, sink\, TV.\nif you want a room for yourself the additional cost is $700\nFree Wi-Fi in the whole building\nAll meals from dinner on May 21 to breakfast on May 30 are included\nCoffee/Tea/Water are included during our stay in the Hotel (consumptions in the restaurant and in the bar are not included).\nAnd of course chocolate\, chips and more?????\nOne\, special edition Quiltworx® quilt kit for each sewing participant.\nYour own sewing station\nLessons from the team\, led by CI Marianne Martens-Niemeijer\nA Goodie bag with many fun Dutch things inside.\nOne day excursion to ?????? A private touringcar brings us to a surprise excursion\n\nWhat is on your own costs \n\nYour flight to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and the flight  back to your country.\nLunch on May 21th and 30th\nAll consumptions in the bar and in the restaurant  (also during lunch and dinner)\n\nExtra \n\nYou can bring your partner with you. We need to know that when you book or as soon as possible.\nStaying longer in Europe is also possible\, but please tell us that when you book or as soon as possible.\nIf you live in Europe and would like to come with your own car or your sewing machine\, please indicate this in the comments on the booking form\, because the price then will  be lower.
